Islamist Sect Members Attempt To Lynch Journalists

Members of the Ismailaga Islamist sect have attacked three reporters of the mainstream daily Vatan for taking photographs of the sect leader's house in an Istanbul district, which according to recent reports is worth 1.7 million dollars. 18 people wearing Islamic-style clothes tried to lynch the reporters. All three journalists suffered injuries from severe beating and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Adherents of the sect were detained by gendarmerie forces, but were later released by the court on duty.
