Strong Reactions From Kanalturk Fans To Tuncay Ozkan, For Selling The TV Channel To Islamists

Kanalturk TV channel, opened and managed by Tuncay Ozkan, had become the voice of anti-Islamist, anti-AKP and nationalist forces in Turkey. The channel’s anti-government stance and programs were the loudest opposition to AKP government which probed, inspected, and sued the channel many times.

Turkish media reported that Tuncay Ozkan sold Kanalturk to Koza of Akin Ipek yesterday, who also owns the pro-AKP daily Bugun, which is also affiliated with the Islamist Fethullah Gulen community.

Kanalturk’s fans including the 1.5 million subscribers of its website are lashing out at Ozkan’s decision especially because of the buyer’s identity that represents what Kanalturk always stood against.
