Students In Fundamentalist Islamic Attire Take Test In Turkey’s Public Schools

All mainstream Turkish dailies reported that thousands of students took open-high school exams in hundreds of elementary and middle-schools around the country, wearing fundamentalist Islamic attire such as black chodors, turbans, cloaks and beards.

The media reported that school administrations and local education authorities did not interfere and allowed in the students who had disobeyed the laws and regulations. Turkish teachers' association [Egitim-Sen] blamed the Ministry of Education for Islamizing the institutions of education and demanded for it to be held responsible.
