Conference: ‘‘Muslim Ummah, Owing To Its Sentiments Of Jihad, Changed The Geography Of The World.’’
During a conference organized by Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) in Karachi, Pakistani youth and students have been urged to imbibe the sentiments of jihad in order to bring about a bright future for the Muslim Ummah.
The conference was told: ‘‘The Muslim Ummah, owing to its sentiments of jihad, changed the geography of the world.’’ Among those who addressed the conference were JUP’s President for Sindh province Mufti Muhammad Ibrahim Qadri, and Allama Iqbal Azhari, the President of JUP for Punjab province.
Speaking on the subject of ‘‘Jihad fi sabeelillah’’ (Jihad in the path of Allah), Mufti Muhammad Ibrahim Qadri said that the religion of Islam held its head high in the past because of jihad. He added: ‘‘The tree of Islam was irrigated with the blood of martyrs from the battles of Badr and Ahd [during Prophet Muhammad’s time] through [the battle of] Karbala, to the martyrs of Afghanistan, Iraq and Kashmir.’’
