A local Taliban commander has been detained in Afghanistan’s northern Jawzjan province. The commander has allegedly been involved in various terrorist attacks, according to an Afghan news website.
Senior police officer Col. Mohammad Ibrahim identified the detainee as Mullah Habibullah. Col. Mohammad Ibrahim added that Habibullah was arrested in the province’s Aqcha district early on Wednesday morning, according to a report in the Afghan website pajhwok.com.
Mullah Habibullah confessed to his role in carrying out scores of militant attacks in the province’s Faizabad, Khanqa, Mardian and Mangajak districts, the police official said.
