Maulana Ameer Hamza, a key leader of Lashkar-e-Taiba’s charity arm Jamaatud Dawa, has accused the U.S. of allowing India to interfere in Pakistan’s Baluchistan province via Afghanistan, according to an Urdu-language daily.
According to a report in the Urdu-language newspaper Roznama Mashriq, the militant cleric said, “India is interfering in Baluchistan because the U.S. provided it passage through Afghanistan.”
Pakistan has criticized India and Afghanistan for supporting the Baluchi rebels fighting for independence from Pakistan.
Hamza, who is also the central convener of Tehreek-e-Hurmat-e-Rasool (Movement for the Prophet’s Honor), said: “The U.S. is facing defeat in Afghanistan and is now thinking of withdrawal. Our rulers should also make it clear to them [U.S.] that their presence in the region is the root cause of all the ills.”
He said that the Western countries are suffering from Islamophobia as Islam is a fast growing religion in the West.
The West is banning the construction of mosque minarets and is printing sacrilegious sketches of Prophet Muhammad as part of a campaign to stop Islam’s spread in the Western countries, he added.
