TESEV Chairman Paker: “Soros Gives Two Million Dollars”

The chairman of TESEV (Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation) Can Paker said, “The Open Society Institute of Soros gives out two million dollars every year in Turkey; it is all transparent.”

Paker added: “George Soros has two dimensions, one is a businessman and a speculator the second is that he believes in the ‘Open Society’ world view and spends money on realizing his ideals. He has 12 billion dollars and he spends around $600-700 million a year for the pursuit of his ‘Open Society’ ideals.”

TESEV, a liberal NGO that is affiliated with Soros’s Open Society Institute, advocates for EU principles, is pro-AKP and critical of Turkey’s military. Its chairman Paker was responding to allegations made by the pro-AKP media that the military had prepared a list of Turkish entities and personalities that are engaged in activities against the secular establishment that are financed by Soros.
