Taliban Take Control Of Police Stations In Pakistan’s Swat District

Taliban have established control in large parts of Swat district in Pakistani’s North West Frontier Province, digging in strong bases in police stations and check posts and patrolling the region. The Urdu-language newspaper Roznama Mashriq reported that the Pakistani Taliban have increased activities and are creating control posts of a lasting nature.

According to the report, the Pakistani security forces deployed in the region are worried over the increasing activities of the Taliban. It added: ‘‘People in the area are worried for security despite the presence of security forces in large numbers.’’
