Pakistan has offered to share nuclear technology for civilian purposes with Bangladesh. Dhaka-based The Daily Star newspaper quoted Pakistani High Commissioner to Bangladesh Alamgir Babar as saying that the offer is on the table and Bangladesh has to decide whether it wants to take it up.
According to the report, the Pakistani envoy told reporters in Dhaka that discussions could begin with the Bangladeshi government on sharing nuclear technology within the parameters of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
Unlike Bangladesh, Pakistan is not a signatory to the NPT.
