Emir of Jamaat-e-Islami in Pakistan’s North West Frontier Province Maulana Sirajul Haq has said that Pakistan is the fort of Islam and any attempt to make it secular will not succeed.
According to a report in the Urdu-language newspaper Roznama Jang, Maulana Sirajul Haq, a former minister of the North West Frontier Province, also criticized the military operation against the Taliban in the tribal district of Khyber Agency.
According to the report, he said the new civilian government of Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is pursuing the same pro-U.S. policies that were started by President Pervez Musharraf.
