Jamaat-e-Islami Youth Leader: Washington, D.C. Will Not Be Safe
Leader of Shabab-e-Milli in Karachi Muhammad Yusuf Munir has said that Washington DC will not be safe if the NATO and U.S. troops deployed in Afghanistan attacked Pakistan’s tribal districts. Shabab-e-Milli is the youth wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan’s largest religious political party.
The Urdu-language newspaper Roznama Jasarat quoted Yusuf Munir as saying: ‘‘Pakistan is not Iraq or Afghanistan. It is an atomic power. If Pakistan was targeted, Washington, D.C. too will not be safe.’’ In the past, Shabab-e-Milli is known to have come under the influence of Pakistani intelligence agencies.
According to the report, the leader of Shabab-e-Milli said that the Pakistani people, especially youth, will fight, soaked in the longing for martyrdom and feelings for jihad, against U.S. and NATO forces until they are eliminated from the face of the earth.
