Pakistan’s intelligence agencies and police arrested British-born international hockey player Adnan Masood for suspected links to Al-Qaeda. The arrest took place at Ghakhar Mandi, near the town of Gujranwala, the Urdu-language newspaper Roznama Jasarat reported.
The paper said that Masood was arrested at the residence of international hockey player Akmal Sikandar, where he had been living for the past few weeks.
According to the report, local police confirmed Masood's arrest on suspicion of working for Al-Qaeda. Police said that two others were arrested as well, but did not give further details.
